Understand Profane’s Development

In this post, we’ll talk a little bit about Profane’s development path so far and what are the next steps! And hey, if you just heard about Profane, we also recommend that you read our previous posts about Profane`s Concept!

We started working on Profane’s initial ideas in 2015, at that time, our team’s priority was to create a version of the game that would help us validate its concept. We called this version Pre-Alpha. In March 2018, we released the Pre-Alpha for Brazilian community testing via the purchasing of Founder Packs. We decided that the tests would be exclusive for the Brazilian public. Since we are a Brazilian Developer, we thought it would be more practical to work only with the local public during the early stages of development. Going forward, we would like to officially share our development with people from all countries!

During the Pre-Alpha tests, we gained a lot of knowledge and learned a lot from community feedback, so we decided it was time to focus all of our energies into the definitive version of the game! As a result, we have set a deadline for September 20th, 2019 for shutting down the testing servers and also, Founder Packs are no longer available for purchase, we will announce new Packs when we have more accurate details about the game`s future.

What are we working on right now?

We are working on a version that will have more scalability and stability. It is part of our goal that Profane’s world is unique so to reach that we must first prepare the basis of the game, which is the Engineering Team’s responsibility. Then our team of programmers will redo some of the Pre-Alpha mechanics, some of the pre-existing and some new too, then the Art and Game Design teams will begin the work of inserting content. Finally, we’ll test and validate the result!

When will the Alpha version be released?

We don’t have an official date yet! While the engineering team is working on the systems to create the basis of the game, the other teams are already developing and studying content and mechanics that if validated will be inserted in a future version of the Alpha. Therefore, we understand that it makes no sense to announce a Roadmap at this time as the team is more focused on internal development than in the implementation of game content that will be experienced by the player.
